The Mandarin duck (Aix galericulata) is a perching duck species found in East Asia. It is medium-sized, at 41–49 cm  long with a 65–75 cm wingspan. I am very suprised to see them in South Africa as they are an exotic species. I was drawn to take this photo of the ducks because of their incredible colours and because each one looks as if it has been hand painted.

All of my photographs have a bicycle watermark. If you would like a copy of the photograph without the watermark please contact me.I trust that no one will use my photos without my permission.
