This street cat ran away from me, as I tried to pet it, but it is very photogenic! These are many cats in Jerusalem and they help keep the city clean from rats. They were originally brought by the British during the British mandate. There are no squirrels in Israel so the cats also take care of the trash.
That is another benefit of cats. No mice or rats will be loitering thereby spreading diseases.

Here stray cats just come for food and do not like being cuddled.
Stray cats only trust the people who feed them. This applies to our people here who live by the sea. Great photo.
