I just can’t wait until summer is officially over. Labor Day is fast approaching, whether you realize it or not. No more all-day sunshine, no more sweating all day long: I hate all of it. I hate summer so much that by the time it’s August, I realize that the torture is almost over, and Halloween is just around the corner. I can’t wait for all the sweaters, and cold nights, and cold mornings, and hot coffee not making me sweat anymore. I don’t like having free time if all I do is sweat.
I don’t like wearing so many tank tops, and besides, I don’t have enough pairs of shorts for this type of weather, either. I need more skirts and shorts, but if I just had enough money, that might do the trick. I could go to the beach whenever I wanted, and pay for my own air conditioning. I would get driven everywhere, and not worry about walking, or standing around for half the day.
I can’t wait for pumpkin spice everything. I want it all. I especially want to try the pumpkin spice coffee creamers. I have been doing a lot of writing, and looking for past stories in my files. I found them, and I saved them. It is time to reap what I have sown. I have been working hard all year long. It’s time for me to watch my success multiply.
True friends will always help you. Thankfully, I have a few of my own that always extend their helping hand. They feel compassion for me, and always lend me their ear. I can talk to my friends about anything, and I appreciate that more than they know. They are the kind of friends that you can hang out with, watch a movie, and share funny observations. Whoever was not a good friend to you will fall to the sidelines as the fall approaches. It’s just the way things turn out sometimes.
When I was a kid, my favorite thing about Halloween was running around at night. I loved the smell of the candy wrappers. I loved the fact that no one knew who I was with a mask on. I loved trick or treating with my cousins. They lived in a nice, safe neighborhood with generous people. I would look forward to it every year. I loved the fact that I had a better option than my classmates. I lived in a bad neighborhood, where no one opened their doors, or the candy you got was very little. Either way, it was no fun for us kids.
I’m sure I will get invited to plenty of housewarming parties this weekend. I can’t wait to wear all my new winter sweaters, This fall, I heard, that it will be the year of the ugly Halloween sweaters. So, if you loved wearing ugly Christmas sweaters, you will love this September even more, I hope. I can’t wait to see which ones are scary, cute, and just freaky!! If there are any Garbage Pail Kids sweaters, I will grab those first.
I can’t wait until there is less sun, and no bugs. No more flies, mosquitoes, and no more ants!! I don’t want anymore looking for shade every chance I get, and looking for a/c where ever I go. I hate that. I feel like I am traveling from one desert to another.
Halloween is my favorite holiday. I buy several of the small pie pumpkins as soon as they are in the market and save one to cook for Thanksgiving pie in November and another for Christmas. I save the seeds, too, to dry and grind into flour for making bread.
Oh, how nice Ann-I do not celebrate this holiday much-children celebrate with us
I will gladly celebrate any holiday that ends with pumpkin pie.
Do you bake a pumpkin pie Ann?
I do, lado, it is a tradition that I buy the pumpkin/s before Halloween and then bake pies from them for Thanksgiving and Christmas. In the meantime, they stay in their shells as decorations.
It’s not celebrated here in Bulgaria, but young people and kids like organizing theamed parties.
Ellie is also celebrating with us children, for me this holiday has nothing to do with it
I celebrated when my kids were young. Man those were fun times.
Yes, this is more a holiday for children – thanks for viewing and commenting
Halloween is such a fun celebration and I just love that kids get candy for free!
Even with us, this is more a holiday for children
We don’t have Halloween here besides watching it on TV.
You did not miss a friend, it seems to me that this holiday has no connection – it’s more for children
Well, at least you have the holiday.
My friend for me is a holiday every day
We have Halloween here in the US but I think it is manly for the kids. I don’t participate.
Carol, too, I do not-it’s more a holiday for the kids
I know this feast but I don’t celebrate it
Why do not you celebrate Vidocka?
Here we don’t have Halloween.
But do not you have this mournful holiday with you? thanks for viewing and commenting
In Thailand, they have a different date. In the Philippines we have.
You see how different we are – so is right – you have other holidays that we do not have
Here, we’ve to pay to join Halloween parties at some expensive place, so nah… not for me :p
Even for me, this is not one of the trappers – for me, children are even more celebrated
