Very few know of this, but I am graduating this weekend from my college. I have spoke of this a few times in my writings as well as in comments with other Virily members. As I share this, it is Gradfest, and I am taking in this moment by remembering how far I have come and where I want to go in future. Some of the things that nearly put me in tears are remembering the struggles during my studies whether outside of school stressors or stressors from the homework itself. Just recently I listened to Elton John “I’m Still Standing”, and it nearly put me in tears because it was a song that always uplifted me from the rough times during past semesters.
Congrats to you! This is very nice, I’m sure you’ll have even better days from now on! ?
Thank you, and I ‘am sure I will. But far from done yet.
Of course, there is a still long way to go. But you are on the right track ?. All the best to you, man!
Hahaha, good one, Tasart
I’m glad I’m still standing as well. Enjoy your day
Good for you, you should be very proud of yourself.
Of course I am proud of it
Congratulations! Yes, I know you will be graduating but I don’t know the exact date. Have you driven the Juke out of the store, yet? More blessings to come.
I graduated May 4th ; )
I have not got it, but I will be taking a look at a gold one near my apartment in the upcoming weeks. Once I boost my hours, I will consider getting it, if nothing major is wrong with it. The one near my apartment is a 2013 Nissan Juke
Congratulations on a job well done
Thank you, Alex. I’m trying to hit your level of awesomeness
aim higher. I have three degrees and not getting anything out of them…
Damn! I have actually heard others that aren’t working in the fields they went to school for, too.
this is fairly common, even for the degrees which have real world value
I can take anything as long as I’m not a janitor or garbage man. Definitely worth more than that.
why even bother with college if that’s what you end up doing?
Only way I’d do that if the circumstances presented itself, such as the money was good, or it worked with my schedule
except the money is never good. the hours could be…
Any recommendations on a summer class? I am considering art
if they have a figure drawing class, I highly recommend it
Cool! I will look it up. Plus, it will refresh my skills, as a old sketch artist.
It will also give me extra things to share on Virily
now you’re talking!
Finally, you’re done! Congratulations! ?
Enjoy your well-deserved celebration. ?
Thank you, and I most definitely will. It seems like a dream because it has been so long since I have been out of school ; )
I’ll share more on that this upcoming week since my schedule is opened up more.
Congrats on graduating!!
A new begin!!
Yes indeed, I am very excited
Congratulations!!! You did it!! I am so happy for you. Now a new chapter begins. 🙂 Yay!!
Definitely a new chapter that I am anticipating. Thank you very much, Kim : )
No one can keep you down if you keep rising!
Thomas, this is an achievement, a great thing to have done! You deserve to stop and remember, because your journey is special!!!
“When they go low, we go high” ; )Thanks! And this is just the beginning : )
I love that quote, one of my favorites! I hope graduation was a blast!
Definitely was a blast. I will share something on it, now that I have a break from internship, and school assignments. Such a relief!
What degree did you ned up getting?
A degree in addictions counseling
Excellent, and when you start back in the fall what is your final degree goal?
Took some great pictures while walking to the hiring event. I love being at soldiers field.
I may have missed registration, but I have two schools in mind:northeastern university, and university of illinois at chicago. The major depends on the school I choose. If I go northeastern then it will be social work, but if I go university of illinois at chicago then it will be rehabilitation
Good for you! my wife is a Hospice Social Worker, it is a tough job but she loves it!
I personally would definitely be affected by that mentally. I tend to take in emotions easily.
my wife does as well, she has been focusing on letting go.
I wouldn’t mind making that an ideal internship option in the future or atleast at a place that provides it.
Hospice is a tough life. But the team my wife works with is amazing.
And that is definitely another key thing, a strong team.
It really is. In jobs focused on the final transition, you have to like the people you are working with.
Sometimes though, you need a really strong personal system as well.
That is one thing I will be looking for in search for my career job.
if I can help in any way, please let me know!
Thank you very much. I applied for a few last night that had a schedule tailored to my schedule, and near CTA train which is a plus.
fingers crossed – good luck I am pulling for you
I’m holding off on taking a job at soldiers field i can land something that’s not seasonal. I’d hope that I get a call this weekend, but these hiring managers have been terrible. I dont think they even look at applications.
ah Soldiers field, many happy memories there
Thank you. I will need it, plus any prayer.
