Sharing a macro photo with you. This flower is called Hibiscus. The blooms are actually sauce sized. Beautiful and I love the red ones. They come in a variety of color. The hummingbirds and butterflies like this one as well.

Beautiful colour of this flower.
Hibiscus are up there among my top blooms. I think I told you already that Josh used to love them because their name reminded him of biscuits (=cookies) <3
In the south of Egypt, tea made from the deep red petals is a very popular and refreshing drink in the desert heat 🙂
I have to agree, and these are something else. The red attracts the hummers and butterflies. And I am telling you, the size of these blooms are like a saucer. You know, you have these, right? Yes I do remember the story about Josh. How special. Still working on that biscuit question by the way. I have read from others about the tea but never tried it.
Try making iced tea from it in the summer, is my advice. I do have these, and one year got a colossal, dinner-plate-sized bloom in France. They are not subtle, but who needs subtle all the time 🙂
I will have to give it a try for sure. I have probably too much subtle in my life. 🙂
Subtle has its place, but as a compatriot of mine once said, “Everything in moderation, including moderation” 😉
What a lovely macro of hibiscus!
Thank you Albert, one of my favorites.
Pleasure is mine as always, dear friend.
