Beekeeping is an agricultural industry that deals with the cultivation of bees in order to obtain their products, especially honey and wax, as well as for pollinating. The most suitable and most widespread for this purpose is domestic bees – in Slovenia, in particular, its autochthonous subspecies are Carniolan lavender. They usually grow bees in the pan. Beekeeping is an industry with a long tradition, which is also reflected in folk art. There are many bee products, among which are honey, pollen, royal jelly and propolis.

Super!!! Always interested in beekeeping in different countries, was very interesting to know about Slovenian beekeeping methods!!!
I have a feeling there is not much difference in getting honey with us or elsewhere – the procedure is the same
I had an opportunity to try Slovenian honey. I’ve got it from my husband’s family. It is really excellent.
Well Nice-they say it’s also healthy
Yes, it is, very healthy, I know that.
Are you an expert in this matter too, my friend?
O thanks Friend-i’m trying to make an effort
That is your privilege that I cannot have, Lado.
Thanks for the compliment Albert-I don’t think I have anything that you don’t have–you got a lot I can’t have
You are so humble, Lado.

Very interesting I have not heard of this tradition so thanks for the information. We also have a NZ tradition, Manuka Honey
And this is already an old tradition and the bee is protected – honey is a good cure for the cold

This is interesting! I have seen one variety of the bees in our place. People say these stingless bees (Trigona biroi) produced high-quality sweet honey.
This bee is a real Slovenian and produces an excellent honey.
I have seen many bee hives but never one like this. Very colorful and beautiful.
We all need to do this more to save the bees.
We have started a great campaign to protect bees
