Going out for a walk or a hike with the dogs.
Finding those little things that draw the eyes..
Sharing these adventures with family and friends.
These things make me happy.
We went to the old abandoned trailer park. I was driving by the other day, and a year after they cut down all the trees, I noticed the whole park was yellow! So many flowers were blooming. The creek that flows to the side of it was clear and pretty, and the dogs had a great time playing in it.
This palm tree caught my eye, with the sun shining through it. It was growing on the edge of the creek. Trying to replace the cut down tree..
While taking a photo of this tree..
I heard splashing… What could it be? If there is water near, you better bet Meika and Luna are playing in it.
Excuse the trash, but what would an abandoned park be without it. I actually do pick up trash, but this is on the other side. The creek is very cold and well….wet.. I can’t get across it.
More of Meika and Luna. It is no accident when you see the wildlife photog taking pictures of a wolf, and that wolf is always behind something… Meika is no different. Do cameras really steal the soul? lol She sure acts that way.
Crazy puppy! Excuse the motion blur. I was taking pictures of water.. I call this a happy photo bomb.
The reflection of the water was really eye catching…
Looking back up the hill..These palms were all lined up, with the pretty clouds in the sky.
On the ground near the fence were these pretty white flowers! The red Bougainvillea is creeping through the fence..
More of the white flowers.
Leaving the park, I almost to the gate and thought this might be a good view point. Down the fence line..Notice the wild rose above? It smelled so good right here! I wish I could send the smell along as well.
So, happiness is enjoying nature”y” type things!!
Very nice, loved them all…….especially the photos of the flowers!
Thank you Courtney, and guess what is coming? I just learned how to do macros on this little thing. I will post them in a bit. : D
Always such beautiful and happy photos Kim. Thank you for sharing with us! 🙂
Thank you Carol, I really thought this place would be condos by now. Seems they only took the trees for lumber..
It is a shame when you see them come in and level such a beautiful place for the animals and for you to enjoy.
I know, I actually had tears in my eyes the day I saw what they did.. whew.. bad day.. I have often wondered how lumber jacks and people can cut down a perfectly good tree..
Money, it is always about he money, sadly.
Those are really good pictures of feverfew – Tanacetum parthenium. (the white flowers) It looks like you have easy access to a good medicinal herb.
OH thank you Rex. We have a farmacy out here for sure. Now I know the name of that flower. I Have often wondered about it. I love the tiny little pinkish white blooms. Now I have to read about it. : D
Feverfew…, sounds like a new website. giggles.
…or possibly a rock group? LOL
It was one of the herbs mentioned in “The Top 6 Plants For Lowering Body Temperature”. :))
Have you ever put these in a field guide? Printed version?
No, I haven’t. I’ve thought about writing an ebook with this and more information, but I’ve just never done it.
You should, I would love to have one!!
Great shots. I happen to believe that nature – the universe around us – is God. Wonderful post.
Thank you Donald. My ancestors did as well. I am not sure what to think, but boy I sure am connected to the outdoors.
We all are. Some doctors are now prescribing patients take a “forest bath” to wash away the stress and tension caused by living the modern life.
Meanwhile, other “doctors” are still trying to hook as many fish as they can on addictive peeeeesychotropic drugs.
🙂
I have heard of those. Take your shoes off type , feel the earth beneath your feet. I prefer natures solutions for sure there Donald!
If I find myself in need of a drug these days, I prefer the laughter of babies. I am hooked on the laughter of babies.
