What an amazing story! The title grabbed me, and I had to read more. great interesting true story.
You wont believe me, but this news came by me via a local South African TV insurance advert. An S.A. black kid is riding her bicycle at sunset, while she describes the quality of products from the past. She then turns into fire station number 6 and walks right up the stairs to Тhе “Сеntеnnіаl Lіght Вulb,” as it is called, іn Lіvеrmоrе, Саlіfоrnia, and points to the very same bulb you see here on my post. The insurance company, SANLAM, is nearly 150 years old, so I guess the price of the shoot was probably justified. Thanks for commenting
I can’t believe it lasted that long. I’m surprised that in that part of the state they weren’t required to replace it with a newer energy efficient bulb. Maybe history does count for something.
Where can a get a couple of those for my home? Would save me a lot on bulb replacement
I can’t even believe it lasted that much! Interesting article!
Wow this is an incredible, believe it or not kind of story! Great share, thanks!
Yeah! like cellphones, you get two year contracts, are they only supposed to last 2 years? And have you noticed, your kettle just passes the one year guarantee and BAM!! it’s dead.
That’s amazing. I’ve heard of other stories where other electrical items have been working for donkeys years, like toasters and hoovers. I’m sure they make things nowadays so they don’t last so you have to spend your money.
