Some Blackbirds have particular characteristics and this one has a lot of character. In Onehunga I looked forward to his visit and he would be wanting food. Often cat food. Some birds I get to know by their character and particular markings.
I used to think that this was an old bird but I would say not necessarily so. It may be a fledgling recently changing from fledgling colours and moulting I am not sure.
Im busy unpacking and sorting through things so cant at the moment take a lot of photos but will be able to do so soon.

I’ve lived in the same place all my life. I live in a house my parents built.
What a wonderful way to live….
I have changed many homes because I live in Spain here. For the last 5 years I have been living in the same apartment.
We lived in Onehunga for over 20 years it is the place I have spent the longest time in. However, as we rented, it is all going to be mown down for apartment buildings.
The hardest is parting from the friendly neighbours.
over the course of the years, we have moved many times. Our last move was 6 years ago. I found a box stuffed in a basement closet that hadn’t been opened from our move before our last move!
Makes me feel better. Dad once went into the roof of a newer place we moved to and found money in the roof, that was made by the Japanese who wanted to invade New Zealand in the 2nd World War.
The Japanese actually made new money as they planned to take over NZ.
it is amazing what we find when we move into someone else’s old house!
Before the first quarter of the year, I will have relocated twice to hundreds of kilometres apart.
