Tyson Fury defeats Deontay Wilder for WBC Heavyweight Championship

source

In a rematch from last year’s draw, Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 21 KO) remained undefeated with a seventh round TKO of Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41 KO).  In their last fight, Fury won most of the rounds, but was knocked down twice by Wilder.  Those knockdowns made the fight a draw last time.  This time, Fury promised everyone that he was going to look for the knockout and win the WBC Heavyweight Championship.

Not too many people believed him because his last fight went the full 12 rounds with Otto Wallin.  Although Fury is 6’9″, his normal style is to box from the outside.

However, Fury chose to be the aggressor in this fight and returned the favor by knocking out Wilder in the third and the fifth rounds before the fight was stopped in the seventh round.  Wilder will now have 30 days to determine if he wants an immediate rematch.

    • Fury adjusted from the last fight and Wilder did not adjust. Fury definitely surprised me, and he fought his best fight ever Saturday night. Off topic – since you live in Spain, how are people dealing with Hazard breaking his ankle?

      • I am not a big fan of Real Madrid but it is unlucky for him. However, Real Madrid has two similar players Isco and James, the two of them are great and can render good performances. It was strange because Real Madrid won Supercopa and had been unbeaten for months. Copa del Rey came and Zidane picked unusual players against Real Sociedad. Real Madrid lost and since this match, Real Madrid has ceased to play well just when Manchester City is visiting Madrid this week and Barcelona will next Sunday. Isco can play as good as Hazard does.

        • Wilder pretty much has no choice but to take it now for the next pay day. Anthony Joshua will be in 2 mandatory fights this year, so there is no other super fight available for Wilder. Wilder could lose the 3rd fight with Tyson Fury and then fight Andy Ruiz after that

          • I am curious now, especially with the claim of the 45 pound costume that he wore. When I heard how much that thing weight I was thinking why in the world. I got it about Black History, but a 45 pound costume. I think he was banking on a early night, overlooking Tyson. Wearing a 45 pound costume before any athletic competition is bound to not end well. Should of got accustomed to it before wearing it for just one night.
