Wondering how the rural landscapes in Romania look like? Well, to me, they seem to come out of my grandparents’ stories. In the village, the time has stopped … The same haystacks can be seen everywhere in the peasants’ yards.
It is a true science to make these haystacks . If they are not made properly, in the shape of a pyramid, with a pole in the middle, you risk waking up with the haystacks on the ground when the wind blows harder!

Things in many Bulgarian villages are the same unfortunately.
Yes, even in our country we can still see such stacked hay. We also have some villages where time stopped.
Wow different haystacks for different countries. Our haystacks are made in a roll up fashion. They are very heavy to load up though especially when they are hauled by hand….
There are similar haystacks made in the countryside in Latvia. I believe there they have the hay already stored before the snows come
Very interesting and apparently there is an art to these haystacks.
