In our country, working abroad as domestic help is popular among women especially those who have no family, widowed or separated from the husband. Working abroad is like a salve to them that somehow promises good money to earn.
But not all dreams become fulfilled. So many cases of abuse by the employer have been reported particularly from the Middle Eastern countries. The government should study the cases and a ban to those countries should be in order. But government officials have their own agenda. I think I am at such age that I have everything I need in my country, so I would not agree to work abroad only to live for my pleasure for some time.

The major problem is when the women don’t inform the concerned government ministry of their going to work in a foreign country. It becomes difficult for the government to intervene.
Domestic helpers often become abused. It pays to work for a legitimate agency and do research, even then they can suffer abuse.
