Late September and all of October it is common to see these beautiful red flowers on a green stem, with no leaves, sticking up in the middle of peoples pretty green lawns, on the roadsides and in flower beds.
This one survived the drought, seems many did this year.

That’s a beautiful flower. I have not seen this flower before, it looks like a palm with many fingers. 😛
