It may sound exotic to some that this little fruit in the picture is a cucumber. It is a wild cucumber that grows in the mountainous areas that have small fruits. The taste is somewhat sour but the texture is the same as the cucumber we know. The wild cucumber is best in making into a salad.

This is the Ivy gourd. The cultivated variety is quite big about two inches long , flesh and tastes exactly like cucumber. we use it in salads.
I am glad that the wild cucumber is also edible. Nice picture.
Always had these in our garden growing up.
We never let that creeper come up as I have seen those tiny fruits and never knew one could eat them.
