How can this plant be called shy if it has such amazing uses?
People call it that because it closes up when touched, much like many humans.
We had these growing up and were always amazed when the leaves would close up.
We have this in our garden and I know why it is called so, as the moment you touched it closes its leaves.
It definitely is shy if it does this. I would gently try to pry the leaves open and see if it stays that way.
