I edited one post just to see in what way it would help me and the site but I noticed it stayed put. The moment it gets into the latest category users do look at the number of views already there and so known it is an old post.
If those who advocate editing of old posts would surely know its benefits. Would they please elaborate.

Do you think editing old posts benefit the user or the site?

Yes

No

I tested the editing function on one old post which has few views only. It got some more and it helped to earn more points.
Good for you then. But that does not happen always
I do not understand this buzz about edited posts. Call me a perfectionist but I cannot see corrupted posts, I will continue editing them till there will not be any of them without photos. I am a blogger for many years and I know that Virily, in the long run, will benefit from edited posts, and as Virily shares its earnings with us, we all will benefit. I do not ask anyone to open my edited posts. Pass by, please if they annoy anyone, but the frustration of others will not force me to have damaged posts in my dashboard. It is even about my brand as a writer.
Thank you for clarifying.
There is no question of anyone getting annoyed as the site has provided that option. However if there was a way to segregating them from new posts that would benefit new posts as they seem to occupy the place in the trending and most commented sections.
Although yesterday my edited post did not move it has today and I see it in the most commented section and I fee I am depriving new posts.
Another issue that comes to mind is the ability to edit old posts.. One needs to scan through the entire approved folder which is a gigantic task.
The site benefiting by these edited posts is yet another area that is confusing me The tags open only to Virily users. Am I right here?
I don’t think a user benefits that much from an edited posts regarding views, but the site benefits form edited posts in the long run because they are hopefully improved.
What I noticed is those tags that are placed in our posts are meant for only Virily users
The tags are confusing for me, no idea where to see them once a post is published or how to see all posts with the same tag.
You will see the tags below the share tabs on your post. If you click on any of your tags a page will open and all posts of other users with the same tag will be seen there.
Thanks, I saw them! Sometimes, when I save draft, the tags disappear and I have to add them again.
Did you notice the same post which appeared two days ago is seen again as most commented as it is edited. Not fair, really.
To be honest with you, I don’t check which are most commented or trending posts, but I agree edited posts shouldn’t automatically appear there. However, there are many unfair ways for a new post to appear there too, like artificial views or spammy comments. So I don’t really pay attention to these categories.
To me this seems completely offline, dear Grace ….. I do not open edited posts and I also do not comment …. why would if I have once
There seems to be some benefit to the site is what I learn here.
Everything we do here has the greatest benefit … only then are we
I don’t edit old posts so it would be hard to give my opinion.
I edit only when I see spelling errors immediately they are published.
