Ever been curious to know what the first language was spoken by humans?
I read that one time they performed an experiment on babies. Once the babies were born, they were kept away from their parents. The nurses were only allowed to change them and feed them. They couldn’t cuddle them, sing to them, talk to them or make any sounds around. The person in charge of the experiment believed that when the babies uttered their first word, it would undoubtedly have to be the words of the first language ever spoken by humans.
Because of this idiot’s experiment, all of the babies died. All of them. It was tragic. And the question still remains.
What was the first language ever spoken by humankind?
In the Bible it says that at one time the earth was all one language. But a king tried to build a tower to reach heaven. This act displeased God and He confused the languages so that the work could not get finished.
Whether or not you believe the Bible story of Babel aren’t you curious to know what the first language was spoken by humans?

Futurist Speaker Thomas Frey published a list of 10 unanswerable questions. The question about the first language is not on the list. So maybe one day we might know the answer. You think?

to figure this out, we have to understand what humans needed once the conditions were there that they needed to communicate.
When groups of humans began to gather, we would then need a language.
The reality of the world is that there were probably many languages in the beginning. Each band of nomads would teach their language. The bands would avoid the others, and thus there would be many languages in the world.
Actually I believe the Bible story about the Tower of Babel.
ok that story doesn’t preclude the historical evidence. There is nothing in the biblical story that says language was always one. Just that in the times of the Tower, there was only one language.
So …uumm? It says the whole earth spoke one language. It says God confused the languages. If they already had several languages and then went to one common language … why would having multiple languages again … confuse everybody and stop the work from being finished?
I think humans need to communicate as soon as they’re born. That’s why babies cry. It may not be a language but they are communicating. Of course, when my kids started talking and actually used my language to tell me what they wanted, we were both very happy we could communicate. LOL.

the way the human brain works would mean that language had to be different during the various evolutionary stages that existed 10,000 or more years ago. Homospaiens and Netherthanls coexisted at the same time. There is no way they were able to speak the same languages.
My guess is sign language that comes complete with body signals. It may be the forerunner of hieroglyph writing.
That’s an interesting thought.
Actually, when I Google about this I come up against Chinese as being one of the oldest languages but I am quite sure that the Lord did not speak Chinese so it is rather confusing
