This Christmas, buy with CONSCIENCE!

It’s Christmas. Yes, we have come to the typical time of year when an apparent voracious need to consume and buy overwhelms us. Is it the fault of the lights that beautify the city? Is it the fault of the media, which drives these urges to want to acquire something else? Or is it our ego’s fault, which does not measure its ambition?

It is in younger generations that the hope for more eco-friendly actions is laid, as they are much more awakened to the environmental causes that are of utmost concern. If fashion does not become more conscious, our future is at stake. Making use of creativity and preferring second-hand shopping are two excellent ways to cut spending and contribute to more sustainable fashion. Buy less too.

We don’t need 20 identical white shirts. We do need to look at our future and make decisions that look after it. Reinventing the past can be a great way to start something new. So, this Christmas, think twice before completely exhausting the budget on articles you really know you don’t need that much. Giving is a kind gesture and can be done to respect our home, which is planet Earth.

Picture is mine.

  1. ah what an interesting topic, how far do you research your buying?

I try to buy things that are sourced ethically. But it takes a lot of effort, because many companies “say” they are doing the right things but they do not/
