The plant of luck – European Mistletoe

Today I’m going to show you a plant considered  the plant of luck – Mistletoe. I found it growing on the branch of a maple

Mistletoe is a hemi-parasitic shrub that grows and lives in trees. It is an evergreen plant, used as an ornament during winter holidays, but also as a herb for balancing tension or for ameliorating respiratory diseases such as asthma, cough and bronchitis. Mistletoe extracts may be useful in fighting cancer as well.

During winter holidays it is common to hang mistletoe above the entrance door because it is believed to bring good fortune, increase  health to the occupants of the house, attract angels and put diseases on the run.

Thank you for stopping by!
