The lights in the harbor

Running from the

crashing sound

to escape the waves

that spreading outward

explode into empty space

and overwhelm. You can  try

too sssah from the water’s edge

to the beach

but

the waves so huge

crash into the sea wall

and fill the air

with foam

pushing the sand further and further

away from the

edge of the water

as the swordfish

battle 

and the lights in

the harbor take

flight

never to be seen again.
