It is more popularly called the mouth of the river where the fresh water meets the salt water. We had the privilege of experiencing the mix of cold and hot water in one delta in a remote province. It was amazing. Making one step and the water gets cooler. Going back one step and the water becomes warm. It may be a phenomenon that not everyone can experience.

Interesting delta … the limb here is something similar only in a much smaller version … when the river flows into the sea

there are many rivers that feed the Chesapeake Bay. The warm, cold phenomenon is one we’ve experienced many times!
