Our small star fruit tree is very prolific. But during the rainy season we couldn’t eat the fruits that have dots all over. Checking the inside of the fruit, the dots seemed to be a repository of eggs. It is like pricking the fruit so they can place the egg inside. When very ripe, the dots have worms inside. That is the reason why we need an insecticide to control those pricking pests of the star fruit.

My 1st time I have seen a Star fruit, never tasted nor seen one. Thanks for sharing the picture
Never seen this fruit before.
Quite frankly, I haven’t tried it yet … but I’ve already seen it on supermarket shelves
I love star fruits, the sweet ones. We use the sour ones for pickle which I don’t care much for. What a sad waste of a crop. Why not use neem oil , its organic and is not bad for you though it drives pests away?
We have a tree and I know it is good for those with asthma. Parrots are fond of this fruit. I am not fond of this fruit but I tried making jam with it.
