Sharing a special visitor to my backyard spring garden. The Silver Spotted Skipper butterfly.
Chances are you’ve seen a silver-spotted skipper. With their brown wings and quick movement, they might not be the first butterflies you’d stop to observe. Take a closer look, and you’ll notice bands of orange on the forewings, and a silvery patch in the center of the hindwings. The silver-spotted skipper is the largest skipper in North America, with a wingspan of two to three inches.

Butterflies are really one of the finer visitors, they are just very difficult to paint … they are very restless
Yes you have to have a lot of patience to get a photo.
I’ve tried so many times, but maybe I did it 1-2, but these are not clear images … they are foggy
You are a big fan of butterflies. It looks like you have a telepathic connection. They are everywhere around you.
Yes I love them, and all taken in my backyard. I feel Dustin around me when I see them.
I don’t know whether that kind of beautiful butterfly is around me or not.
I don’t think you have them there in your country unfortunately.
Such a wonderful capture!
Thanks Ellie, I am so ready for spring!
Super shot … the butterfly is wonderful … we do not have such beautiful butterflies
Think you, this was in my spring garden on the butterfly bush.
That is a beautiful picture, Carol. I love seeing photo’s you share. I love butterflies.
Thank you, I cannot wait for spring!
Lovely Butterfly Carol, we don’t have that type here. Very beautiful
Thanks they are fairly common here.
