This is an old picture. I saw these silhouettes on the roof in front of my window one morning before sunrise. When can we see a silhouette? When an object or a person is between a light source and the viewer, resulting in the viewer only being able to see a dark outline of the object. I am sometimes puzzled when I see that there is confusion between shadows and silhouettes because in photography the shadow is totally different from a silhouette.

Such a clear image! A good quality
I tried but failed………..
Try again! I am convinced that you are able to realize what you have proposed!?
That is one lovely picture.
Thank you, Dawn! I’m glad you like it!
I just want to say that you have made my silhouette in a totally cool way!
Wow! Was that you? What were you doing up there so early?
Just repair the leaky roof.
I knew !!! I took some photos while you were working! Want to see them?
Thanks you for explaining, and I did know the difference. Love this photo.
I’m sure you know the difference, Carol!?
Usually I can tell them apart but sometimes, it’s not so straight forward
The shadow is a dark area produced by a body or object coming between a light source and a surface, while the silhouette is the dark shape and outline of someone or something visible in low light against a brighter background. (But I’m sure you knew that!) .
