Lahore is also called the city of gardens. This is a picture of Shalimar Bagh’s pavilion. Shalimar garden is mughal’s garden complex. Most of the development and architecture work in punjab was done by Mughal Emperors.
Construction of the shalimar garden began in 1641 during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan, and was completed in 1642. He enlarged the ancient garden in 1619 into a royal garden and called it ‘Farah Bakhsh’ (‘the delightful’). He built it for his wife Nur Jahan (‘light of the world’).
