The church was built in 1845 and was called St Patrick’s cathedral Church that was built in Gothic revival architecture and has the capacity to accommodate at least 1500 the whole interior is painted in oil and window are all of stained glass
In November 1991 the cathedral was visited by mother teresa of Calcutta
