Today we have a planned power outage for bird protectors. I really have not idea what bird protectors are, but this is what I found when I went searching. I see birds on the power lines all the time and I have never worried about them. I find it odd that it would be work they would want to do when it is below zero. It must be important though.
Perhaps it is something I should learn more about because I am truly in the dark about this.

it protects the birds from the lines themselves. The lines kill birds as the power leaks during transmission. It is a good thing and also helps with transmission loss.
I have no idea about this but I do know I can see birds outside my window sit on the wires and a crazy squirrel always runs along the cable
Never heard of this before but I researched a little…
Birds marks should be selected whenever the sensitivity of birds has higher priority than the landscape. The markings reduce bird strike up to 90%.

I’m not sure if we have such fuses.
