This is one of my favorite times of year to go out in the early morning and late evening and watch as the osprey teach their young to fish. I take a warm beverage, perch myself on a rock and enjoy the show. (Often times my family comes and says I have been gone long enough!)
Sometimes the fledglings are trying to wrangle a fish that is too big and a parent will help out. Sometimes they will swoop down and carefully carry the fledgling back to the nest. I simply never tire of watching them fish.
We have reservoirs both north and south of our home. If you want to watch the eagles they are north. I do a little of both and sometimes, maybe the best times, no one finds me and asks me to come home!
