Some times it is hard to be the youngest in the family. It seems like older siblings are trying to trick you into thinking dumb things.
So when the youngest grandchild called and said “Hey are there plants that eat meat?” I had to stop and think a minute. “Well they eat insects so I guess that is meat, I would have to say probably so.”
“So do you the know the names of those plants?”
“No, do you want me to find out and call you back?””
“Yes, please.”
That is where this all began.
Now I know that there are five plants in North America that are carnivorous plants. This was new to me. Although I had heard of the Venus Fly Trap I thought it was something my brothers made up to make me look stupid. Apparently, I should have listened.
Here are the other plants: Pitcher plants, bladderworts, and the Cobra Lilly.

Do you ever go searching for answers for others?

Before I lost my Dad, he depended on me for eveything. If his tv was not working, (two states away) he would call me. I would magically make things happen. I miss those days.
I will probably feel the same way when they stop reaching out to me and I know that will happen.
My sympathy is with the fly. Yes, I am the youngest of my family. It was not easy, everyone else wants to tell me what to do with my life. You wonder if they have any life of their own?
Lol, I am glad you are there to support the fly. I hadn’t even thought of that.
Grandma is always a great source for information! I know my kids rely on my mom for all sorts of fun information!
Well I don’t know much, and I getting better at finding answers.
A really early mentor of mine always said: “it’s ok to say I don’t know, as long as you follow that with but I know how to find out.”
