Nature Tuesday – The ivy-covered trees

The ivy is considered by many to be an attractive decorative plant for the garden, but other gardeners accuse it of suffocating the trunk of the trees on which it grows. Is it harmful or not?

As far as I know, ivy does not really cause trees health problems and does not lead to their death. Since I first saw them, many years ago, the ivy-covered trees in Chindia have remained as beautiful and vibrant. In the period when the ivy blooms it is a pleasure to see them.

“The graceful ivy, clasping the oak that supported it, would form a whole in which strength and beauty would be equally conspicuous.”Mary Wollstonecraft
