The Earwig was the nightmare of my childhood. My grandma was scared me this insect could get in my ear, pierces the eardrum and lays her eggs in my brain! Imagine the horror I felt at that age. That’s why, whenever I meet this insect I still feel a little frightened. Anyway, I’m not so scared. I can take a picture when I see such a view….
I share this picture with Nature Tuesday Challenge

i grew up with a scientist who hated old stories like that!
it is interesting the things that adults tell children. Sorry, your grandmother scared you!
now, the picture, awesome!
Thank God both my grandmothers and also my mother never told me personally this story. We have a lot of earwigs here in the spring and summer but most times we spray them with soapy water and they either scamper away or die. Your picture is phenomenal. You have a good eyesight to have noticed this critter in his hiding place…
Gret hiding place for the bug. I don’t think I have ever seen one before.
Not sure if I have seen this insect before. He found an excellent hiding place.
The earwig loves the narrow places.
