Nature Tuesday ~ A plant that attracts bees

I have quite a few medicinal plants in my garden.

Lemon balm  (Melissa officinalis) is very attractive to bees and strengthens their health, which is not strange at all. The word melissa in Greek means bee.

Lemon balm is very easy to grow even indoors. Fresh or dried, it is suitable for salads, sauces, and as an addition to many dishes. From it, we prepare herbal vinegar, tea, and add it to the bath for relaxation. Lemon balm is used against headaches and nervousness.

The healing properties attributed to lemon balm by ancient healers have been confirmed by scientific medicine. It works for digestive problems, such as indigestion, too much acid, nausea, and cramps. It is a mild sedative that helps with sadness, anxiety, depression, laziness, stress, insomnia, migraines, depression, and irritability. Lemon balm tea should be used by people who are facing difficult tests – for example, students before exams. It will help them gather thoughts and solidify their memory.

I use lemon balm for tea and juice.
