Mother of Thousands

Kalanchoe means mother of thousands. These plants can grow thousands of baby plants from their leaves. This one here is the Kalanchoe Pinnata in bloom. It blooms once a year during the summer months. These succulents could become a weed if left to themselves.

However, these bunches of bell shaped flowers  are worth the wait. The hang on two to three foot stalks. They look like colorful chandeliers. In some cultures there mean prosperity and abundance and are gifted as blessings.
