Seeing my mother struggle to take care of her brood of nine with little money I know money is not the route of all evil but it does help us face so many situations that we have to tide over where only money can help
Her children are doing well atleast most of them including me and so we rallied round her and saw that atleast the later part of her life she saw comfort and got whatever she wanted in her life.
My mother is no more – we lost something precious.

My parents help me out. I’d love to help them out but I can’t do that unfortunately.
Sad that you are not financially independent. I hope this will change for you.
Unfortunately, I know a lot of people who take advantage of their parents indefinitely.
Here in India it is expected that children take care of their parents if they are not sound financially.
Unfortunately, the situation in our country is a little different. Many young people do not want to work because their income is too low.
Most here start working as soon as they are equipped with some expertise.

The kids then wait around, waiting for the inheritance.
The kids are even asking money from their parents, for all manner of things, even when old.
I know my Grandfather gave my Dad money to buy his first house, 70 years ago, so nothing has changed in that time, here, money only ever goes, one way.
If parents go out with their adult children to a restaurant, it is usually the parents that still foot the entire bill.

😁😁😁 That must be when kids need parental support. But what about when they themselves financially independent?

May be when parents are financially independent and are doing better than their children that will change the situation somewhat
Yes, the older generation is much better off than the younger one here.
Most could own a house in those days, so have that asset going for them when they are old too.
It seems more of a struggle for the young ones to do that these days, but then again, their priorities are different. Most want to travel first before settling down to buying a house, or anything like that.
