This is by far my most realistic mermaid design, because orcas are mammals. The standard mermaid isn’t even possible, since humans are warm blooded and fish are cold blooded so a hybrid isn’t even an option
These sorts of things really bother me. If you’re wondering how Joel eats and breathes and other science facts, repeat to yourself this is just a show; you should really just relax…

It was a little hard to choose because all of your work is fascinatingly beautiful, but I voted for the Orcamaid. I got lost on your website far too long last night! You should never stop overanalyzing things because you have to make up for all the people who under-analyze things. Capiche?
I can’t get out of the habit, regardless but you raise an excellent point- someone needs to pick up the slack for all those folks on autopilot…
Nice post! Nice pictures!
I haven’t seen you in a while, how’ve you been?
Both are amazing, but maybe I like the Orcamaid a little bit more.
She’s both new and accurate. The old way is both tired and impossible…
Feed your instinct without too much emotion if possible. Your best answers are within you.
A dispassionate assessment of the situation is usually the optimal call but not always in artistic endeavors…
I definitely can’t disagree with that…
When creating art, sometimes a cold, sober mind is needed but other times you want quite the opposite. But for all other serious endeavors, best to approach them from a dispassionate point of view…
I don’t think I over analyze but I do analyze pretty much everything
How do you know when to stop? I can’t tell until I’ve gone way too far…
Good gesture , I like it
I should’ve done more mermaids, but it has been a busy month for me
You never over analyzes you just look things over until you hear the word perfect enough. The art-master has responsibilities and that is to analyze until perfection. Just right!
Unfortunately, I don’t have a progress bar when I analyse something so I never know when I’ve done the required level of analysis. Usually it becomes clear only after I have been over-analyzing for some time…
What a beautiful mermaid you have created. And no you should not stop over-analyzing. I have been told that but that is part of our personality, I believe.
Rest assured, I will not. Much to the chagrin of my friends and family. I just wondered who else thought I should…
Yes, we are in on the same page perhaps.
Socrates said that the unexamined life is not worth living. I agree and if it means that I have to overanalyze some things then it is a small price to pay…
