This is the closest I could ever get to a peacock in the wild. I thought I would use this for the Macro Monday challenge. I loved the light this throws on the peacocks head and the shades of color on it. The deep color on the feathers and the plumes on the head all make a pretty picture.
Peacocks are among one of the most beautiful birds, especially among the big birds. I do not get to see them often, its only when we drive out of the city do I get to see these sight and I treasure them.

Another great post I missed 7 months ago. I do love the colors of those feathers. I have seen them up close, but not in the wild. They were pets. I had never noticed that their skin around the beak is blue too. Nice shot! I found this from Ellie’s birds of Virily post. 🙂
Thanks Kim for the visit and thank you Ellie for adding them to your post. I would love to have one of these as a pets, but we only see them in the wild.
They are loud, very very loud.
They are loud but it doesn’t really matter when I see their beauty and majesty.
I have many pictures of peacocks. Here in Torrevieja Spain we have many in the parks where they walk freely.
Then it is a common sight for you. In the city its hard to see one, so I love seeing them when I travel.
We have peacocks roaming in our property and I have several videos and photos that I have captured of these beauties.
How lucky !! Wish we could see these beauties regularly.
They have been displaced from their habitat thanks to concrete jungles replacing forests near by
That is so sad. We humans never have enough of anything.
I have written a post under ‘list’ where I have posted 8 photos of peacocks in my garden. You might like to see them when the post is published. I had you in mind while writing that post.
I have only seen these beauties in zoos.
Then you do see them up close but not in their natural habitat.
Love peacocks they are very unique.
True, LaJenna. They are very different from most other birds.
