Normally, the Super Cup (Supercopa) is played in August in Spain before the beginning of the new La Liga season. However, the Super Cup was moved to January this season because the competition will be played at the King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Instead of the Super Cup being a one-game affair, this Super Cup will have a semifinals. Valencia will take on Real Madrid on Wednesday, and Barcelona will take on Atletico Madrid on Thursday. The winner will play in the Super Cup final in Saudi Arabia next week.

I’m glad that Atletico won. Messi was whining. I still don’t get why Griezmann would leave Atletico for Barcelona when they are on the same level now. I guess that Griezmann did not want to play defense any more.
Griezmann is not such a great player. Barcelona pays more money than Atlético I think. Outside Spain, Barcelona is more known than Atlético so they can pay more money. The Spanish press is saying that Barcelona wants to get rid of Valverde and offer the post to Xavi, the legendary player but Valverde is not to blame. He is a good coach.
Oh, that’s why Barcelona wants Neymar back.
