My husband was watching Fox News this morning and they are going to run a Virtual Kentucky Derby. Normally we would have been on our road to meet our friends and spend the day celebrating all of the traditions. I am working, but I will record it. I did go in and donate a little to the cause. I think it is really important to remember those who truly need the help. I can’t do much, and I will do what I can.
It will be interesting if they really do hold it in September how close the virtual race might match the actual race. It’s at least giving us something else to think about today.

When I lived in NYC I loved summer days at Bellmont Race Track and watching those horses run. I would always bet just $2 and sometimes I was lucky there times not. However every year I would also have money on the Kentucky Derby and someday I hoped to see it in person. Perhaps one day.
I hope they find a way to make it happen this year. It’s something we love to watch, sometimes in person, sometimes not.
Love the image, brings back good memories. I might watch some of this.
I wanted to watch, but I was working.
Covid 19 changed many of my habits. I don’t think my life will be the same from now on. I like horses but, I’ve never been to a live horse race. We do not have such events here.
I love being around horses in general. Working at the ranch gave me lots of opportunities to spend time with them.
I really hope Covid 19 doesn’t change all the good things we can enjoy.
I’ve never been to a live horse race. In some ways, Covid-19 has changed my daily routine.
Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Live horse races are quite exciting to watch in person. Since I am still dealing with Covid19 in the home it’s a bit nerve-wracking, but I guess that is our new normal.
As have I and this year is very odd. I cancelled our plans and as it turns out I would have been still training as well. Wow, my whole life has truly changed by this illness.
i have been to the Preakness, the Belmont stakes and of course the Derby many times.
my own personal triple crown!
Please tell me that you really enjoyed it!
i loved all three. Funny – we lived about 90 minutes from the Derby so it was a fun day trip and went 4 or 5 times. We live about 60 minutes from the Preakness now, and have been 2 times. When we went to the Belmont stakes that was a day trip, but I was working a project in NYC.
