Ancient Greek mythology, tells a beautiful story of the amaryllis flower. The tale originated from the love of a pretty maiden, Amaryllis for Alteo, a strong and handsome young shepherd. He had a great passion for flowers. One night, on the thirtieth, of I know not what month, a beautiful flower grew from a drop of her blood, the very next day, he saw the bloom and heard that it had grown from a spilled drop of her blood he was so enamored with the story which helped Amaryllis win Alteo’s love.
