I know it is a very strange question because Bangladesh got test status back in 1999. In fact i want to say that after playing twenty years of test cricket, Bangladesh is still a minnow of this format. Although they won a few test matches but that are not enough for a team which playing test cricket from last twenty years. Bangladesh played 113 test matches so far and won only five.
Afghanistan got test status in 2018 and they were playing only their third test. Everyone was considering Bangladesh as favourite before this test match but Afghanistan proved that they are better test side than Bangladesh. They outclass them through out in this match. Bangladesh were nowhere from the first session of the match.
All credit goes to young Afghan side and congratulations to ACB on this remarkable achievement.

Bangladesh just needs to be more consistent in order to win tests in the future.

Bangladesh players are real fighters. They would improve over time.
They proved their abilities in limited overs game but they are still immature for test.
This is sport.

Cricket is a bit predictable game, we can guess the winner even before the game.
I understand where you are coming from. Every team has its ups and downs. England were never able to win the ODI world cup until 2019 despite being the ones who created the game itself.
What is cricket, its a game played by roughly 10 countries on the planet. Being an Indian I say this because cricket is not a truly global sport.
Bangladesh has test status but does not have super talented cricketers except Sakib. Sri Lankan cricket rose to heights and after Sangakara retired they are back playing poor cricket.
I just want to say that Bangladesh cricket authorities did not give importance to best format of the game.
