Almost all international events are facing cancellation because of the corona virus which is officially called COVID-19. There are more than 50 countries already affected with contamination with big numbers in South Korea and Italy. Although China’s contamination is slowing down but there number is still growing by 400 every day. So what happens to international events like the Tokyo Olympics? Until today, there is no word but Japan said they will declare next week on the status of the sports event.
It would be silly to attend a seminar with all participants wearing face mask. For sports events, it is not only the audience that would be at risk of contamination but also the players and performers. This year of 2020 will go down in history as one bad moment for international meets. Everyone is advised to just stay home.

Are you worried of the virus?

Yes

No

Definitely, because there’s still no cure for it.
I am getting a little concerned about the virus. There’s been 23 cases of the virus in England now. I know that’s not many compared to some countries, but people are being very careful, I think now.
The rate in which it is spreading is a point of concern.
Unless you are in a vulnerable category – e.g. elderly or otherwise unwell – this virus is no more severe than any other type of influenza. The problem is the degree of spread – we could end up with a lot of people being slightly ill, after which they will be perfectly OK.
I am not worried about this virus. I am very worried about what this virus means.
