Petunias are popular annual flowers in gardens here and in mine. They come in stunning colors and many different varieties. I mainly plant petunias in pots and hanging baskets and they bloom all summer into fall. Lately I collect the seeds each fall and start them indoors for planting outdoors late spring. As a result I have healthy strong and beautiful flowers each year.
While there are numerous complex hybrids of petunias available today, they were formerly divided into two main types. The grandiflora petunias have large showy blooms while the multiflora produce an abundance of smaller blossoms. My favorite colors are the purples, violets and indigo as well as a pink trailing variety which I have reproduced from seed.

I did not know I could do hybrids. Your colors are also my colors.
I love petunias. I did not know you could make your own hybrids. Interesting. I do collect seeds everywhere I can. Love these colors. Great shots.
Thank you. I find it happens without even trying. When I start different types of petunia seeds together, I do find I get some new and interesting versions.
I swear this is happening to my Bougainvilleas. I have a red, a pink and a white and pink. They seem to be blending… The dark red has tones of hot pink in it.
How beautiful. My neighbor that passed last year used to give me seeds. I sure miss her.
Sorry to hear about your neighbor. I am sure you enjoyed the plants from the seeds she shared with you
Very nice photo my friend
Thank you and they look a lot better in real life
Not sure why you thought it was necessary to mention a photo was edited as all photos are edited. However, the edits did not change the original colors of the petunias. What you see is what it is except clearer and more detailed.
My mom loved petunias. Humm, now that I am thinking about it, that was probably about the only flower that would grow where we lived!
I love them too and they were always my go to flowers whenever I planted a garden
