Gloridaze
A mix of purples and blues creates this stunning and eerie sky. The colors in this photo have not been edited and was taken at sunset close to my home. If you think that Indigo skies are weird, you would be interested to know that they are not that unusual as particles in the atmosphere contribute to a myriad of colors in the sky as the sun sets.
Not only can you you see Indigo skies or clouds or sunsets, there are also meanings, events and things that are associated with the term purple cloud. In 1901 Matthew Phipps Shiell (M.P. Shiell) published a somewhat strange novel entitled Purple Clouds. Purple clouds or purple smoke also refers to the smoke that comes from smoking certain “herbs. There is a Taoist temple in China with the same name as well as a song.

That is one awesome sky. I love the darker hues to sunsets. Blue is my favorite color, but purple follows close behind. Indigo is my fav of the purples. Great info that I was not aware of too in this, purple clouds!
