I salute the medical fraternity

In the last few weeks, my son who is a doctor has been working for 20 hours everyday. This untiring service is not going to end anytime soon. He like the others of the medical fraternity will continue to work hard until the battle is won. I haven’t seen him in three weeks now.  Let alone seeing him, I have barely spoken to him  on the phone during this time.

This amazing medical fraternity is doing this without sufficient sleep, food or water for hours. Food is available, but there is no time to eat or even have a sip of water most of the time. Such selfless service needs more than a salute or an applause. These people are like soldiers in the front line. They have our backs while exposing themselves.

I asked my son if I could bring him and his friends anything and he said all he wants is to sleep for a couple of hours. Tears flowed out of my eyes before he even finished his sentence.  I am so in awe of how the medical fraternity is doing all it can to keep us healthy and alive.

He shared something with me that made me think. This is what he told me. He said people working from home seem to have too much time on their hands for any good. The number of accidents after getting drunk has increased. People are falling off their balconies and in their bathrooms in a drunken state. The road accidents, not because of traffic but because of being drunk is also on the rise.

This has been keeping him in the ER for more hours than what he should be doing.  Is this responsible behavior? Is this what we need now?

  1. I send your son positivism to you. All together who are on the front line in this battle deserve our respect. Their mission of Doctors Without Borders now shows they are together at the hottest spots.

  2. all who serve int these times of difficulty deserve so much more. Doctors, nurses, and all the medical professionals. People that have to go out and fix power lines no matter what. Police and Fire professionals who have to respond to calls for help, no matter what.

Those who are willing to give at all times. All deserve a huge amount of praise.
