Herding Cats

It is so obvious and simple and still I missed it. I often set goals of which I have no control over whatsoever. If it is not something I can accomplish without anyone else, it will no longer be a goal. Why am I spending time herding cats to keep my goals going? I make no sense at all. How did I miss this?

We may as well start right here with Virily. The only points that I can control are the ones I can make for myself.  I can increase the chances of getting the support and help of others by participating, writing and creating interesting content, and still the only things that can be in my control and in my goals.

I try to encourage, beg, trick and reward to get help with goals around the house. What am I thinking? The only thing I can control is what I can do myself or what I can pay someone to do for me.  I may as well stop asking them to fix the leak. It’s not their goal. I just need to pay for it to be someone’s job and their goal and it will get done. I need to pretend like I am the only one who truly cares about the things that are important to me and center my goals on those things.

This is in no way means I won’t care for, help, be kind, participate and be fully engaged. However it will only be a goal if I have complete control over it.

I have a pretty fair handle on controlling my actions and sometimes I have not set myself up to do the right actions. What on earth would make me think I can depend on others?
