Frogs really do sit on lily pads

Do frogs really hang out on lily pads? Sure they do. Frogs are known for their jumping abilities and what better place to engage in jumping than a lily pond. Frogs are found all over the world and are among the most diverse animal species. As amphibians, they begin life in the water and live on land but are never far from water source. I have a pond in the backyard so every summer I see at least one frog hopping through the garden or relaxing by the pond.

It seems like anywhere there is a pond or other water sources, frogs appear. I visited our local botanical gardens and was delighted to see several frogs on lily pads. Water lily leaves are  convenient resting places for frogs and they are strong enough to hold the weight of a frog. Frogs  enjoy sitting on the pads in the sun or shade but they need the occasional dip in the water.
