Four ways to use very ripe bananas

A good banana may not be too green, but when it is overripe it does not taste good either. Ideally, the fruit is in the perfect spot and the tip for choosing the ideal fruit is when some black spots appear on the shell; however from this moment on the ripening process is very fast.

But even if the bananas you have at home are already too ripe, that is no reason to throw them away; on the contrary. Food waste can be easily combated by using certain foods, and bananas are one of them.

Ice cream – Make a healthy fruit ice cream: Freeze the ripe banana and then mash it in a food processor until smooth. Very simple and the choice of toppings is the customer’s taste.

Bread – A quick Google search lets you find a wide range of healthy banana bread recipes, a kind of cake in disguise that promises to delight healthy eating enthusiasts.

Cookies – Adding banana, oats and some peanut butter is enough to make some great and nutritious homemade cookies.

Smoothie – Using banana as a base and adding a source of protein and a vegetable to taste is enough to make a delicious smoothie.
