Do You Support Volunteer Outreach Programs?

Hearing of others in desperate need, whether it’s a governmental breakdown or a natural disaster, is heartbreaking. We often wish we knew of something we could do that would really help.

Knowing what would help and what would actually hinder is important before making the decision to reach out. For instance, if we do not understand the need or know that the people we are trusting to help in tandem with us are doing what they say we can make the situation worse by creating more problems or misusing financial resources.

These concerns do not need to worry us if we determine to work with a valid local, national, or international organization. A little research on any group to make sure they are doing what they should in using funds and other resources properly (and getting positive results) is not difficult in this day of online accountability.

April is national volunteer month. Deciding now to be a part of something bigger than ourselves and help provide for someone in desperate need is the best way to be ready for April and carry the theme of volunteerism throughout the year.
