I have been in love with the Maltese Cross (Lychnischalcedonica) perennial ever since I purchased some seeds several years ago. The Maltese Cross has been a staple in my garden ever since. These tall, stately perennials are rugged and easy to grow. However, they need to be staked to maintain their upright stance.
I like that they can be easily divided and bloom quickly after being replanted. The Maltese Cross also attracts butterflies and are great as cut flowers. You may know it by other names such as Jerusalem Cross, Knight’s Cross and Tears of Christ. This is my contribution to the Kim’s Color Crazy Challenge. https://virily.com/challenges/color-crazy-challenge-2019/

Beautiful and easy to grow – what else is there to want? I wasn’t familiar with this flower, thanks for sharing!
Yeah! the best of both worlds. Thanks for visiting
I have never even seen it, beautiful though.
They do make a very nice showing in the garden.
I do not know this flower … a very beautiful flower that does not grow in our place
I hadn’t heard of it until I got it so perhaps it is not too common
Never seen these lovely blooms.
They are a nice part of the garden and the butterflies like them

It is not a very common flower so I know many haven’t seen it.
