Just recently there was an item that spread in Facebook about a new year greeting. Forwarded as a private message, the item has several links that you can click for the desired greeting that it will send to your friends. But the link is actually a malware that would get your information and spam your email. There’s also a link with a viruses.
Receiving such a message for 5 people, it was fortunate that someone had already posted a warning about the malicious message. So what has to be done? The senders of such a problematic message should be taught a lesson. I blocked them so they cannot send me a message anymore.

My friends on FB are only family members, relatives, and friends but not and never just familiar people. So, I do not block or remove them as I have not who to block.
blocking works much better on facebook, and mylot than it does on Virily. I also use the mute feature which turns off their feeds.
If, someone clicked on a malicious link, you may want (if they are a friend( to send them an off facebook email and let them know their account is hacked.
I am sorry that you got a message like that Alex. It is sad. There are things there that people get away with and are not punished while others say the truth and get punished there.
